Meet the Leadership
Mandy R. Barley, BSBA, ASDH, RDH
Mandy possesses a profound understanding of her clients' needs, drawing on an impressive 27-year tenure in the dental profession, which includes 14 years in dental hygiene practice. She holds a National Board Certification in Dental Hygiene and maintains the designation of Registered Dental Hygienist. Over the course of her career, Mandy has also served in roles involving dental office management, practice transitions, and ownership transfers—frequently navigating the complex challenges of provider recredentialing.
Currently, Mandy is an integral part of Whitt Accounting & Advisory, LLC, where she manages day-to-day operations and provides office consulting for dental practices. In addition, she has proudly established a niche outsourced accounting firm, OrthoLedger, specializing in Orthodontics, alongside her distinguished partner Trey Whitt, CPA, of Whitt Accounting & Advisory. This venture reflects their shared vision of delivering focused financial clarity and operational support to orthodontic practices nationwide.
Her educational achievements include an Associate in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Wallace State Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business, Healthcare Administration from Faulkner University, awarded in 2023.
Mandy’s personal life is equally rich. She and her husband Justin recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. Justin has since retired after 27 years of service in law enforcement, where he held the distinguished role of Police Chief. Their daughter, Claire, is a Dental Hygienist and graduate of Calhoun Community College, while their son, Aaron, has graduated with a degree in Advanced Manufacturing – Industrial Maintenance.
With three years of focused experience in the dental accounting niche, Mandy continues to follow her passion—helping dental practices thrive by simplifying operations and making performance metrics easy to understand and act upon.
Trey Whitt, CPA
Trey began his accounting career as an intern with the Birmingham, Alabama-based firm, Dent Baker & Company, LLP (currently, Dent Moses, LLP). After passing the Uniform CPA Exam and progressing through various positions of increasing responsibility, Trey was named a partner in the firm in 2008.
During his tenure at Dent Baker, Trey cultivated expertise in business and personal tax, encompassing tax planning, tax return preparation, review, and department oversight, tax research, and tax audit representation. Notably, he played a pivotal role in leading the firm’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, specializing in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, and the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC).
In 2005, Trey onboarded his first dental office client and began developing an industry niche in dental business transitions, tax, and outsourced accounting.
In 2021, Trey founded Whitt Accounting & Advisory, LLC to further develop these niche offerings to dental offices and owners. By 2025, Whitt Accounting & Advisory had experienced remarkable growth, expanding its clientele to over 40 dental offices across six states.
In 2025, Trey co-founded with Mandy Barley OrthoLedger, LLC, with a shared goal to provide concierge outsourced accounting and consulting services to orthodontic practices and owners.
Since 1999, Trey has been happily married to Shondra Whitt, and they have one adult daughter, Morgan. In his free time, Trey enjoys engaging in activities such as running, cycling, reading, and spending quality time with his four furry companions: three cats and a dog.
